Heat Recovery Ventilators

Most homeowners spend more time in their home than anywhere else. Research has shown that air quality in many conventional houses can be very much worse that outdoor air due to mould and chemical emissions from the contents of the house and from building materials.

Our home package use "whole house" mechanical ventilation. Each room in the house is provided with fresh, healthy air, enhancing indoor air quality. Whole house ventilation also means there is an even distribution of fresh air throughout the house. Mechanical ventilation also controls humidity levels, making the house more comfortable and discouraging the growth of mould, the ingress of dust, pollen and house mites that can cause an allergic reaction.

Homes are equipped with a heat recovery ventilator (HRV). These ingenious devices provide continuous fresh air to every room in the house, while exhausting stale air to the outside.

How HRVs Work?

(HRVs) a HRV saves energy by using the heat from the outgoing air to warm the incoming fresh air.

The Benefits of HRV's

An HRV provides many benefits for homeowners: Fresh air is provided to every room in the house - even when the windows are closed! This allows you to close windows to keep out exterior noise and still have fresh air moving into every room. A HRV controls humidity levels. Low humidity causes throat irritation. High humidity encourages the growth of mould and house mites, which can cause health problems. Air filters can be added to the HRV to ensure incoming air is clean, healthy and fresh. Because air is always circulating throughout the house, there is balanced heat throughout with no cold spots that are often found in other homes.
