Eco-friendly homes on show at Housebuilding 2007
BSW Timber Systems' energy efficient homes will be centre stage at the Housebuilding show in London in October.
The company will illustrate the benefits of the Super E timber engineering method, which has already revolutionised house-building in Canada.
The innovative technique, which ensures homes meet stringent environmental standards, already has a proven track record in the UK with the success of the prestigious Berkeley Homes housing project in Kent.
BSW Timber Systems offer a structural building envelope that addresses a range of issues including thermal performance, air permeability, durability, fire protection, sound transmission, whole house ventilation and energy recovery. The company also collaborates on whole house design, energy performance modelling, environmental impact assessment and supply chain integration.
Using this leading-edge construction technology, the highly efficient houses provide benefits such as lower energy bills, external noise reduction and improved control over odours and humidity.
Additional advantages include increased insulation levels, advanced window technology, minimal air leakage, an entire house ventilation system, and rain and moisture control.
The timber panelised walls are built off site in ideal assembly conditions, with windows insulation and vapour barriers installed before being shipped to the UK.
Simon Johnson, Sales Manager of BSW Timber Systems, says: “We are looking forward to showing delegates the benefits of the Super E system, a product that offers unmatched environmental, technological and economic benefits to the end consumer.
“The Super E method offers a new level of comfort and building design for the consumer, with a superb environmental performance at affordable end prices.
“BSW Timber Systems has already attracted major interest from the industry and we are actively looking for other partners who may wish to utilise the outstanding Super E technology.”
Housebuilding will be staged from 9-10 October at the Business Design Centre in London.
