BSW Timber Systems employee raises the roof with top marks

BSW Timber Systems’ Keith Riley was presented with a top award from Trussed Rafter Association (TRA).

The TRA has rewarded the designer who toped the score sheet on the trussed rafter design training course that the Association runs. The online course covers the fundamentals of trussed rafter design right through to the structural mechanics and creation of roofscapes.

The winner of the award, Keith Riley, took part in the training back in January and came out with the highest score of 92 per cent. Working closely with Napier University, TRA launched the online training facility and to date around 60 people have completed the course, offering the roofing industry another means of quality assurance and peace of mind for the customer.

Keith Riley, a member of the design team at BSW Timber Systems in Ramsgate said: “I am really glad to have achieved this level and received the award. I think it’s great that our skills are tested and rewarded throughout the industry by experts and the association. It encourages us all to continue to improve our trade and ensures we are delivering valued and quality work for our customers.”

Philip Wright, BSW Timber Systems managing director said; “We are delighted that one of our employees has received this top award from TRA. At our site in Ramsgate we have a fantastic technical design team who we continue to support with the latest training and development systems available to us. It adds value to our business when we have members of the team hitting top grades in industry quality management tests and ensures we continue to improve our business and offer our customers the highest quality service.”

Susan Farrow, secretary of the Trussed Rafter Association said; “At TRA we are committed to stringent standards of quality and service and continue to set the professional benchmark for the industry. The creation of this award is just another example of this. The course takes roughly six months to complete so we would like to congratulate Keith on his achievement.”
