New Timber Build System Unveiled at Ecobuild 2009 – Exclusive to BSW Timber
BSW Timber will launch Pi, a new patented intelligent panel system, at Ecobuild and Futurebuild 2009, which takes place at Earls Court from March 3 to 5.
Pi is a timber build system utilising British grown timber, sourced from BSW sawmills throughout the UK, and will targeted primarily at Housing Associations, Regional Housebuilders and the self-build market.
Tony Hackney, BSW’s Chief Executive, said: “This is a product with a very exciting future. It has been in development for more than three years, already well proven in a number of house types showing excellent performance during construction and final results in the end product. Pi delivers the buildability of masonry and the sustainability and performance of timber.”

The patented Pi system will be manufactured at BSW Timber Systems in Ramsgate, as well as at BSW mills throughout the UK. Its launch follows an exclusive deal making BSW the sole manufacturer for Icotech in the UK and Ireland.

“From a product specification point of view, Pi offers superb thermal and sound performance, whilst being flexible, robust and structurally sound. It can be manufactured on or offsite and is extremely adaptable in using different insulants for different markets.“
Pi is a patented timber build system and comprises of an insulated laminated ply ring beam system and standard insulated panels. All Pi components are standardised dimensions and ‘off the shelf’, providing supply chain, design, engineering, and construction solutions. Pi will be exhibited at Ecobuild on stand number 2150.
